From my earliest memories I loved making things. And when I wasn’t working with clay, likely as not I would be creating 3-dimensional simulations on the computer.
My fascination with structure naturally led to me working in a small artisanal company in Tokyo that undertook all kinds of projects in architectural design, window displays, monuments and installations and even giant aquariums like the one at the base of Tokyo‘s Sky Tree, and the one in Dubai, then the world’s biggest.
This gave me an unrivalled education in construction techniques, materials, planning and a gamut of related skills.
I have worked in various roles on a great number of architectural and design projects, including collaborations with such well known names as Pinifarini and Zaha Hadid Architects.
And all the time, I was polishing my own vision and refining the knowledge to accomplish it.

My inspiration seems to come through my hands; they give form and substance to an awareness latent inside me. And this inner source itself is connected to everywhere and everything. It’s too vast and ephemeral for me to put into words. Which is probably why I do what I do.

By looking and touching what I make,  it’s clear how much I’m influenced by the infinity of curves found everywhere in nature.

My current  approach is to make small models of a handy size, then use photogrammetry technique to scan them into a digital space where I further explore and refine the geometry with 3D Cad.

Because the”blueprint”is in digital form, my creations can be expressed without regard to materials and scale in many places at the same time.
